Year in Japan
In May 2024, I received the “One Year in Japan” scholarship from the Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce. In October of the same year, I moved to Fukuoka, where I spent six months living with a Japanese host family while attending the Japanese language school Meiji Academy. I quickly fell in love with Fukuoka, its people, incredible food, and beautiful nature. Since arriving in Japan, I have traveled across Kyushu (Beppu, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, Miyazaki), Honshu (Nagoya, Gifu, Nagano, Toyama), and Hokkaido (Sapporo, Otaru, Niseko, Tomakomai). Over time, I realized that one year in Japan would not be enough. I decided to stay longer and began working as a User Experience Designer at the same language school where I had previously studied. It has been an incredible journey so far.
